Losing Anne brings back a flood of memories from a beautiful, bygone era of our lives. It has been about ten years since we last packed up for our holidays or walked down to the local pub together, as life changed completely when my late wife became ill. We moved away around that time and naturally lost touch, though I still saw Anne very occasionally over the years. But the passage of time and distance doesn't diminish the joy of what we shared.
For decades, the four of us were inseparable. I still look back so fondly on our times away—whether we were celebrating a special wedding anniversary together in beautiful Hawaii, or enjoying the peaceful days spent at our caravan in Wales. And I can still picture Anne and my wife sitting together during our weekly pub trips, happily sharing a couple of bottles of wine.
Anne was a wonderful, steadfast friend, and she is now reunited with her husband and my wife. Rest in peace, Anne.
With love,
Paul
