JeanMURGATROYDMrs Jean Murgatroyd, of Greenbank Park, Rawtenstall, died at Turfcote Nursing Home on Sunday, May 23, aged 93. Jean worked for the tax office until the first child came along. She then devoted herself to running the family home, except for a spell working at a jewellers in Rawtenstall. She had a wide range of interests, including cookery, dress making, gardening, history, opera, and foreign languages, and was an animal lover who always kept cats and dogs. Jean was a member of Rossendale Wheeler Cycling Club in her youth, and was a member of the Luncheon Club in her later years. Wife of the late John, who died last year, she leaves sons Adrian and Clive. The funeral will be held on Friday, June 4, at 2.30pm at Burnley Crematorium. Donations if desired to the Salvation Army. It has been a thoroughly miserable year, first John, and now Jean.
We are not gathering to properly remember them, reminisce, celebrate their lives, mourn their passing.
It is so sad.
