JoeMURPHY21.02.1991 - 10.07.2009 2 RIFLES Brian , Jill, Ben and all the family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended Joe’s funeral on Thursday 6th August. We are overwhelmed by the love and support given to us by so many people, family, friends and strangers alike. The amount of people that lined the streets to show their respect to Joe was phenomenal and brought home to us the amount of support the community has for the soldiers serving their country. Particular thanks to all the staff at the Co-operative Funeral Directors in Castle Bromwich for all their care and attention, Val, and all the staff at the Remembrance club Castle Bromwich, West Midlands Police Service, Aston Villa football club and the staff at the Woodlands Cemetery. Father George from St Wilfred’s and Padre Colin Butler, thank you for the support you have shown since Joe’s death and the lovely service you gave at the funeral. Thank you to the parishioners of St Wilfred’s who worked so hard to make the church look outstanding. Special thanks to all the staff and customers at the Spitfire Pub and Spar Shop in Castle Bromwich for their fantastic support and their generous donations. Thank you to the Army especially those from Joe’s regiment 2 RIFLES and the Ministry of Defence. From the dignified repatriation at RAF Lyneham through to Joe’s funeral the true compassion shown by all we have met has been a great solace to us. We couldn’t have got through any of it without the unfailing support and compassion from our family liaison officer Captain Mak Singh. Thankyou Mak. Finally, thank you for all the wonderful cards, floral tributes and very generous donations to 2 RIFLES and Help for Heroes. Nicole and Laura thank you for help in raising so much money on Thursday. Joe, deep in our hearts you will always stay loved and remembered every day.
