AliceMYERSCOUGHMrs Alice Myerscough, of Great Harwood, passed away on June 28, 2022, aged 87. On leaving school she became a shorthand typist for solicitors and social services. After the birth of her girls, she worked at Metflex, Wrist Wires and Central Kitchens for Schools, Great Harwood, and spent 17 years at Calderstones as a night Auxiliary Nurse, up until retirement. For many years she was a Girl Guider for St. Wulstan’s, Great Harwood. She loved taking the girls on camping trips. She was an active member of the Royal British Legion Branch, Great Harwood and a poppy collector for nearly 40 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Branch and Veterans Association in Blackburn. She loved knitting, crosswords and musical theatre, enjoyed holidays abroad, regular weekends away and going to Lourdes. Dear wife of her late husband Leonard for 60 years, loving mother of Lynne, Elaine, and the late Karen. Devoted grandma of the late Mark, and doting grandma of John, Charlene, Sam and Wayne, great-grandma to Damian and Reece, aunty, cousin and friend to many. She will be sadly missed. A requiem service will be held at St Wulstan’s, Rushton Street, Great Harwood at 10am, administered by Father Tansey, followed by a committal at 11.15am at Great Harwood main Cemetery, Blackburn Road, Great Harwood on Wednesday, July 13.
