On the 3rd of September 2016, Carl Gregory James Newbold passed away unexpectedly in Snowdonia, Wales. He was 48 years old.
Carl was born in Sutton Coldfield on the 30th of May 1968. He was the first son born to Derek and Maureen (ne Ruddy) Newbold.
Carl graduated from the University of Teesside and then later the University of Wolverhampton. He spent the majority of his career teaching mathematics and I.T., most recently at Plantsbrook School in Sutton Coldfield. He was a respected member of the community and was a longtime volunteer serving as the Scout Leader for the 8th Sutton Coldfield group as well as a Duke of Edinburgh Award leader.
Carl is survived by his children, James and Matthew, brother Adam Newbold, uncle Tony Ruddy and his wife Val; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He will be remembered for his amazing wit, his generosity and the kindness he showed to all that knew him.
Family and friends are welcome to attend the funeral service on Thursday, the 15th of September at 10:30am at Sutton Coldfield Crematorium (Tamworth Rd) and afterwards please join us at Pype Hayes Golf Club (Eachelhurst Rd) for refreshments. Family flowers only, if desired, donations may be made to the North Wales Mountain Rescue Association.
You are all invited to celebrate his life on Friday, the 16th of September at 3pm at United Reformed Church (Brassington Avenue, located in the Gracechurch Centre) followed by refreshments in the church centre. Family flowers only, if desired, donations may be made to the 8th Sutton Coldfield Scouts.
