DennisNORRISPassed away unexpectedly on 22nd July aged 87.

A much-loved husband of Maureen whom he lost 22 years ago, and the best of dads to Sheila.

Dennis was born in Lambeth and evacuated with his mum during the war, to Rawtenstall where he spent his childhood and went to school. He moved to Haslingden soon after getting married and worked as a wagon driver for many years before becoming his own boss doing painting and decorating. He loved his home and spent time pottering about in his sheds and garden or fixing his cars and had many happy holidays abroad.

He will be very much missed by Sheila and all his friends and neighbours.

His funeral will take place at the chapel in Haslingden Cemetery, Grane Rd on Tuesday 13th August at 11am.

Family flowers only; donations in his memory are welcome for Cancer Research U.K.

when visiting my daughter Sarah I always see Dennis's house, I remember his boat displayed on his front window and how I often saw him tinkering with his gate. Dennis was always ready to chat old school. I only knew Dennis for a couple of years but I do miss him.........Dennis was such a lovely person and always ready to help ANYONE, x fond memories of a genuine man with a good character x R.I.P

I am so very fortunate to have been a neighbour of Dennis, even more so the day he corrected me by saying “eh you, i might be old but we are friends as well as neighbours”. He would always help and support me in any way he could. Sheila was his pride and joy- loved her and was so very proud to be her father. He thought the world of Shaylee and would do any thing to make her smile often saying he liked to spoil her.
I’m so very thankful for the memories and especially the laughter he brought to my life. Rest in peace ‘our star’ Dennis with your beloved wife.
