In loving memory of Bill O’Keeffe. I’ll always remember Bill’s smile and laughter as you would experience both when visiting with him. I first met Bill on his father’s farm in Kerry amidst a sea of cabbages. We always had a wonderful time with Pauline and Himself, and his lovely daughters Paula and Mairead, whether it was in Kerry, Erdington, or with his siblings and cousins in New York. He enjoyed a special long friendship with my father Luke Sr. My father would suddenly announce “I have to call Bill” and did that second, or would leap out of his chair to get on the phone when Bill called. And laughter would follow although since they were both from Kerry it was hard to understand the punch line. It was wonderful also to see his special relationships deepen with Lexie and Orla. His love, smile and laughter will remain in our hearts. Rest In Peace Bill.

I was lucky enough to have had Bill as part of my life for the past 7 years since meeting his granddaughter Lexie. Bill was one of the kindest and most welcoming people I have ever met. Since the first day we met he treated me like a grandson and as part of his family which was a real honour. I have some great memories of the time I spent with him but one really springs to mind. We were in Ireland and visiting where Bill grew up and we just stood there overlooking the farm and he was telling me stories of his childhood on the farm. It’s a simple memory but the best. I will always remember Bill for the stories that he told me, never a time was there where he didn’t have a story for me. He really was like a grandfather to me and I will miss him but I will always have the stories he told me. Rest in peace Bill
