MarkPEIRSONBorn 17th July 1944 passed away on the 31st January 2020 at St Luke's Hospice after a short battle with cancer. Mark was a man who loved life and touched everyone he met with his kindness and warmth. Mark married Isabell on the 23rd September 1967 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Plymouth. The wedding was the first joint Roman Catholic and Church of England service to be held in Plymouth. They went on to have two children Clare born in 1970 and Thomas in 1980. Clare and Tom have had a wonderful upbringing with Mark to guide them through the ups and downs of life. They will miss having his amazing advice and not being able to pick up the phone for a good chat or to watch the rugby with. Mark loved his grandchildren so much and was always there to support and guide them through their younger years and into adulthood. Rachael, Lauren, Annabelle and Harry will miss their Papa (pops) so much but have learnt kindness and empathy from such a wonderful role model. You would often find Mark with his brother Simon in the local Hostelries around Stonehouse and the Barbican putting the world to rights over a few beers. Friends are invited to share in the celebration of Mark's life at the Ford Park Cemetery Chapel on Friday 14th February at 10.15am. We ask that flowers are not brought but donations are made to St Luke's in memory of Mark. These can be left by retiring collection or sent c/o the Funeral Directors. Mark will be hugely missed by all his family, brother Simon, wife Isabell, daughter Clare and son Tom, Grandchildren Rachael, Lauren, Annabelle, Harry and daughter-in-law Jo.
