The obituary notice of Jez PENNOCK

Jez, what can I say...... I've known of you since you were 1 Platoon Sgt in the jam boys. I was a crow in 2 Platoon, and we never spoke. Roll on some 22 years, and our pathes crossed in the most unexpected way. I was standing at my coffee trailer in Blackpill, and you were walking up the cycle track. I soon recruited you as CQMS of CHAP-IN-THE-BOX coffee, you became the most loyal of friends, and even came with me on some of our coffee adventures. You were quite simply the truest of friends Jez, and I was privileged to have been able to be by your side during what must have been the most difficult of days for you. Letting go and giving up just weren't in your text book, and somehow you even managed to be you during those final weeks. You will be missed and never forgotten. Until we meet again, (Vortex) Mike.

To my brother Jez, my best friend, I miss you. I miss our nightly chats, your ever ready positivity and laughter, your ability to calm me, your fun, your country music, which I'm now tuned into. You were a legend to others but to me you were my younger mischievous brother, the love of Julie's life, great dad. Until we meet again in the re-org, sleep tight and keep watching over us.
