I grew up next door to Gaynor for the first 16 years of my life. I totally took for granted what a good neighbour she was until I moved away and realised that not everyone is so amazing. Gaynor was the one who would take your washing in if it rained and you were out. If you were locked out of the house she’d invite you in with a cuppa. My mum’s catchphrase when I was growing up was ‘go and ask Gaynor if she’s got a…’ (insert various cooking items here) and Gaynor would never moan but just give so compassionately, she would give you anything or do anything if you needed it. She drove me to hospital when I broke my arm. She always had an air of someone who knew exactly what to do in any situation. She had a well stocked kitchen and an immaculate house (and garden) at all times. She was so giving and so smiley and bubbly. My overriding memories of her was always someone who was laughing (often at me when I’d said something stupid as a kid) The first time I ever went to the cinema was with Gaynor and Leanne to watch Bambi. I remember Gaynor having to hug me when I was balling my eyes out! I remember her smiling, giggling, laughing more than anything else. When ever I recall her to mind, I can’t think of her not smiling. She will be sadly missed and I am so sorry to all of you for your loss. Lorayne xx
