Maurice HenryPRIESTIt is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maurice Priest, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 aged 92.
Maurice was a loving husband to the late Erna Priest, and leaves behind his children Marc, Andrea, Louise, and Rebecca plus his grandchildren Isobel, Samuel, Isaac, Ella, Anna, Katie, Benjamin, Megan, Eric, and April.
Maurice worked for Courtaulds Limited for forty years and retired in 1990. He enjoyed his various dogs, travelling, gardening, and bowling. In retirement, he was a member of the Bacup Natural History Museum and the Rossendale Probus Club.
The funeral will take place on Monday, September 8, at the Central Methodist Church Hall in Bacup at 2:45pm, followed by refreshments at Bacup Cricket Club.
In lieu of flowers, Maurice's family is asking for donations to Sightsavers Charity (sightsavers.org).
