I first met Vaughan five years ago at an Anglican church service,on Anglesey. Vaughan was a lay reader who regularly came to conduct services in Welsh. He was always welcomed and respected by the congregation for the professionalism and Christiany that he espoused.
He was a man of great intellect, and a graduate of The University College of Wales, Bangor.
As a retired family doctor I was also impressed by his many years of service to the St John's Ambulance, Wales.

'Roedd yn bleser mawr i mi gyfarfod a gwrando ar Vaughan. Mae ei farwolaeth yn golled fawr i'r gymuned ,ond yn enwedig i Carys Killkelly. Yr oeddynt i briodi Mis Marth elanni.

A true gentleman - kind, considerate and caring. Made others feel happy because he cared. Will be missed, particularly by my lovely aunt Carys. The relationship should have been much longer, still has so many happy memories. I will see you again Vaughan in a better place.

A true gentleman. Much kinder and wiser than he realised - a sure sure sign of a truly nice person. Enjoyed making others happy, as he did my lovely aunt Carys. Sadly gone but will be remembered my many. Until we meet again Vaughan.

I was blessed to have known and volunteered with Vaughan in St John Ambulance Cymru. As a dedicated and passionate volunteer he served in our North Wales Region, as a child and adult. He held a number of notable roles across our Charity, including a County Commissioner, Divisional Treasurer and Regional Chaplain. Vaughan was made a 'Commander' of the Priory for Wales in 2001 for his service to our Charity in Wales. During the last 6 years alone, Vaughan dedicated on average 115hrs, per year, volunteering for St John Ambulance Cymru. Diolch yn fawr iawn Vaughan for your service - Now Stand Down and Rest in Peace. Richie Paskell Chief Commissioner - St John Ambulance Cymru.
