ÀTo my lifelong friend and comrade, I myself are in Queens Medical at receiving the news of Alan's passing, I would have loved to attend the church service but I am still in QMC. Alan and I have had many a laugh and he brought me up through the ranks with him. He went through the trouble of arranging Judith and I to a Queens Garden party. My first encounter with Alan was picking him up at his house in a Champ, with Ernie Lamb. I myself being a learner driver and from there going on a recce to Proteus and the second main encounter with Alan where he came with us on an Army motorbike to the Black Rocks at Ambergate. There was not a camp when Alan did not come with his men for a fun day within the training grounds. His passing came as a big shock to me, my condolences to all the family and he will always be remembered by me.
Eric Harris, Line Troop.
