JamesRIVETTMR James Rivett, of Brockclough Road, died at home on Tuesday, August 27, aged 99. Jim, as he was known, was a felt worker at Mitchell, Ashworth and Stansfield, before becoming a storeman at Lucas Aerospace in Burnley. He served in the RAF for over six years and trained as a flight mechanic and then as a fitter on Spitfires. He was a life member at Waterfoot Conservative Club and during his retirement was a keen gardener. Husband of the late Esther, he leaves daughter Ann and son-in-law Thomas, nephew James and partner Carol and nephew Harold. He also leaves great-nephews Jim and John, great-niece Sarah and husband Sam, great, great-nieces Georgia and Freya and other nephews and nieces and many friends. A funeral service took place at 12noon on Monday, September 9, at Burnley Crematorium, administered by Helen Coonan. Funeral director: Dawn Winfield for Fred Hamer Funeral Services.
