DavidROBERTS24th June 1946 - 11th December 2025 David Roberts, aged 79, of 21 Llwybr Main, Mynydd Llandegai, Bangor, passed away peacefully on 11th December 2025 after a short but brave battle with an aggressive form of cancer.

Born in Liverpool on 24th June 1946, David lived a life defined by dedication, skill, and quiet determination. He began his career as an Engineer in the Merchant Navy, before working as a Machinist Manager at James Pringle. He later spent over 20 years as a Laboratory Engineer at Bangor University, where his technical expertise, problem- solving ability, and willingness to help were greatly valued by colleagues and students alike.

David was a devoted husband to Barbara, and a much-loved father to his daughters Hannah, Michelle, Anthea, and Jocelyn. He was a proud and cherished Taid to Kyle, Joseph, Cadi, and Aimee, all of whom brought him immense joy.

Outside of work, David's true passion lay in the restoration and enjoyment of classic cars. He took great pride in both the craftsmanship and the journeys that followed, finding happiness in the details, the engineering, and the open road. David will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, and generous man, always willing to help others. As his family fondly say, "if it was broken, Dad could fix it." He shared his knowledge freely, and his calm presence, practical wisdom, and willingness to help will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The funeral service will take place on Friday 23rd January 2026 at 1:30pm at Bangor Crematorium, followed by a wake at 3:00pm at Neuadd Goffa, Mynydd Llandegai. David's family kindly request that guests wear bright and colorful attire instead of black The family kindly request no flowers. Donations, if desired, may be made to Marie Curie, in appreciation of the care and support provided.

Always happy to chat for a while when I was passing with my dogs. I really appreciated this with my family being far away. The fact that he has such amazing daughters shows how good a father he was. I miss our chats

Uncle Dave. What a man. Some stand out memories for me and my family. Playing Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (If you know, you know). Dave had absolutely no coordination and had the family in hysterics when we played this at family get togethers. The Boxing Day family quiz. Always too hard but always good fun. Dave’s love for DIY. ‘The house that Dave built’ is what I would say. Always a new addition when we came to visit. His love for restoring cars. I’ve had a ride in a couple of them. His ‘Father of the Bride’ speech at Michelle’s wedding. When welcoming Duncan to the family, he said, ‘and it’s a great family’. At that moment, our table set off our massive party popper, to draw attention to ourselves😆. It was perfect. Lots of memories to treasure. We will miss you Dave. X
Helen, Matt, Imogen and Gabe.
