KeithROSCOEMr Keith Roscoe died at home peacefully on Thursday, June 24, aged 82. Born in Rochdale, he moved to Bacup as a boy, attending Thorn Primary and Blackthorn Secondary Modern. On leaving school, he joined his father in the family business, before doing his National service in Germany, joining the Transport Corp and later transferring to the Army Air Corps. On return he rejoined the business where he continued to work up until 2019. He enjoyed varied interests, including golf. In the 60s through to the 80s his passion was darts, winning many Bass Charrington Rossendale titles for different teams during this period, culminating in him winning the Wilsons league individual title in ‘76. He was President of the ‘Rossendale Gentlemen’s Club’ on two occasions. Husband to the late Patricia, and father to his late daughter Debbie, he is survived by son Keith, daughters Tina and Sue, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brother Ronnie, and sister Helena. The family would like to express their gratitude to the local district nurses, for their dedication over the past 12 months, and the Rossendale Hospice nurses for their care and compassion for his end of life care. The funeral will be held on Friday, July 2, at 11.10am at Anthony Johnsons, followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium at 12.15pm, with service conducted by Celebrant Peter Goulding.
