I met Alan and Betty in my first job at the University Hospital of Wales. A wonderful couple, always welcomed me and would tell me great stories. I am so sad to here of their passing. I left the UK in 2015 after my own mother and father passed away and lost touch with Alan and Betty but never forgot them. My late condolences to their family and friends.

How do we love thee? Let us count the ways.
We love thee to the depth and breadth and height
Our soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
We love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
We love thee freely, as men strive for right.
We love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
We love thee with the passion put to use
In our old griefs, and with our childhood’s faith.
We love thee with a love we seemed to lose
With our lost saints. We love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all our life; and, if God choose,
We shall but love thee better after death.
With love Frances & Gill
