I can’t give you a card or gift today but that doesn’t stop me from remembering that it’s a special day in the calendar.

Hello my mum, you would have loved today, lots of food, fun and children. Chaos reigned in a good way. We all miss you especially on special occasions. I hope you knew how much you were loved. Your great grandchildren are all adorable.

It never gets any easier. But why does this year feel so much harder? Maybe because I look at my completed family and hate that you’ll never get to meet my babies. That you’ll never get to be cheeky with them like you were with me. Or sneak matchmakers with them whilst I’m not looking. Maybe because every time I look at Halle’s hands, I see your nails. Or when I look in Luke’s eyes, I see yours. They will always know you. I miss you. Thank you for giving me the best and showing me what it is to have fun, be silly and love all the food, and how important family is. Love you always. You are never far from my thoughts. Ever. Xxx

Hey Mum, I still think of you & Dad everyday. I was so lucky to have you as a mum & friend; I hope you knew that. The memories are still very much with me and they make me smile and laugh. Luke has eyes just like yours and Cerise says he pulls faces just like you use to which makes us chuckle. I miss and love you so much. X
