RIP Bob
I remember so many things (all good!) about Bob. I was the assistant manager in the C&C in the mid 1970s and went on a 3 week course in Bradford. Bob was my stand-in and when I returned, not only had he run the department very well, but he'd solved a couple of long-term problems. He was a regular Friday night visitor to the Sump Ole on Newton Road, along with his dog Ollie, who would drink anything including beer and whisky. Bob used to say he didn't know who was the worse for wear on Saturday mornings = he or Ollie!!
