BrendaSHUFFLEBOTHAMMrs Brenda Shufflebotham, of Swinnel Brook Park, Haslingden, died at home on Sunday, December 5, aged 95. Born in Rawtenstall, she lived in the valley all her life. She was the daughter of Thomas and Doris Barnes, who ran West End Garage, Rawtenstall for many years. In 1964, along with her late husband Eric, they established Shufflebotham Carriage Company, which they ran until retirement in 2000. Brenda was a founder member of Rossendale Hospice Committee from its conception, and a member of Rossendale Business and Professional Women’s Club for many years. Wife of the late Eric, she leaves son Peter, daughter Ann, grandchildren Shaun, Sarah, Laura, and Oliver, and six great-grandchildren. The funeral was due to be held on Thursday, December 16, at 1.40pm at Accrington Crematorium, leaving from her home, led by Steven Crook.
