MalcolmSHUFFLEBOTTOMMr Malcolm Shufflebottom, of Holmes Lane, Bacup died suddenly in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Wednesday, July 6, aged 62. Malcolm was born in Bacup and moved to live in Cowpe in 1994, then returned to Bacup six years ago. He owned W. Shufflebottom & Son Roofing Contractors, taking over from his father. He ran it with his sister Kay having worked in the business all of his life. He also owned another business servicing and repairing chainsaws and gardening machinery. Malcolm enjoyed Motocross, and, although retired from racing in 1991, he still loved to watch the sport. He leaves his wife Jayne, son Thomas and his partner Georgina, daughter Lucy and her partner Richard, grandchildren Archie and Evie, brother Chris and his wife Anne, sister Kay and her husband Peter, sister Julie and her partner Andy, sister-in-law Lilian and her husband Bill, nephews, nieces and many friends. A short service will be held at 11.20am on Thursday, July 21, at the Chapel of Rest followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium at 12.15pm conducted by the Rev. Derek Allen. Family flowers only please; however donations in lieu to The Spinal Injuries Association, Southport via the funeral director Anthony Johnson Funeral Services Ltd, Bacup.
