The obituary notice of Sean Robert SLATER

Every memory I have of Sean is of him smiling, or encouraging people, or solving some problem, (or organising the sporting sweep-steaks which involved all the above at once). From chats in the kitchen at work, to his playing of an unfortunate dwarf stuck in some sewers in a game of Dungeons and Dragons; he was always a positive person who spent his time making whatever he could better, and lifting people up - whether through direct action or by way of example. I can think of no better way to live a life, and no better example to set for others. Thanks Sean.

Sean was a brilliant role model and all round lovely guy, easy to talk too about anything, films, books, sports, history - anything. Super talented designer and illustrator. Loved his family and was super proud of his kids. Will be missed massively.

Wonderful guy. They say be around people who are good for your soul - I got to sit next to him everyday while working at View. Inspiring and funny.

For nearly 25 years, Sean was at the heart of VCA. An exceptionally talented designer and illustrator, his creativity, imagination and unmistakable style brought countless ideas to life and left an enduring mark on our work.

But Sean’s contribution went far beyond his extraordinary talent. He was a kind, funny and loyal friend whose warmth and character made the studio a better place. It was a genuine privilege to work alongside him and to share so many years, projects, conversations and memories.

Sean will always be an important part of the VCA story. His influence will live on through the work he created and in the memories of everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Sean’s family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
