DorothySMITH(née Brooks) RYTON, Tyne and Wear - Our beloved grandma Dorothy Smith, passed away at the age of 96 in her home at Meadow Walk, Ryton on Monday 10th October, 2022. Dorothy was born on Tuesday 23rd March, 1926 and grew up with her four siblings: Connie, Marge, Joyce and John at 2 May Avenue, Ryton. Our grandma married grandad Raymond Smith in 1955 and together they enjoyed married life at Woodentops, Woodside Road, Ryton until his death on Christmas Day, 1992. Together, they were proprietors of the BP Petrol Station on Stella Road, Blaydon for many years. Dorothy is survived by her son David Smith and grandsons Paul Smith and Mark Smith, her daughter Margaret Smith sadly died of pneumonia before her first birthday. A service is to be held for Dorothy at the Holy Cross Church in Ryton on Wednesday 26th October at 1:30 PM, followed by cremation at Mountsett Crematorium, Dipton at 2:45 PM.
