Martin JohnSMITHslipped away from this world without drama on 23 October 2023. Born in Leicester on 27 March 1947, he attended John Ruskin School and was a resident of SE15 since 1979. Well known and well loved locally, he was the cleverest and kindest of men. His many talents included photography, music, making and fixing almost anything, ceramics and leatherwork, many will know him from One Tree Hill allotments and the Repair Cafe Nunhead and other community groups across south and east London. His departure is much mourned and he is sorely missed by his family and many friends. A gathering of Martin’s tribe to celebrate his life was held on 17 November 2023 at Ganapati, Peckham.
