FredSMITHFormerly of Grane Road, Haslingden, died on January 28, aged 92 years.
He was the loving husband of Jean Smith, for 68 years. Father of David and Karen Smith.

Fred was a Journeyman Plumber well known in Haslingden. From leaving school, he started working for Mr Kay on Lower Deardengate, moving to Mr Reggie Dewhurst on Regent Street. Later in life, he worked on maintenance at L Whittaker’s cotton manufacturers on Grane Road. He loved Country music and dance. His favourite hobby was Fly Fishing on Grane Reservoir.

Fred’s family wish to thank all the district nurses and palatine nurses for their loving end of life care.

Funeral service and cremation will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, February 9 at 1pm.

Family flowers only please.

Feed was so funny, lovely character. We went to many venues were Fred and his wife did their partner dances.Lovely couple.

I was so sorry when I heard Fred had passed away, not having seen him for so many years; but it was a pleasure to take care of him for his funeral.
