JillSNOWDearly loved wife of the late Basil for over 60 years, the family sadly announce her passing after a short period of illness on November 5th 2025, at the age of 87.

Mum, "Ganny" passed away peacefully whilst in the care of the RUH, Bath. We wish at this time to thank them for all so much for their care and compassion.

For family reasons, a private "direct" service will be held at Haycombe Crematorium on Wednesday 3rd December 2025.

At a later date Jill's (and Basil's) ashes will be interred together, as per their wishes.

"Be again with your Mr. Blue Sky" Much love, Jeremy, Marianna xx

Auntie Dilly (Jill), will be so greatly missed. Our beloved Auntie was always such great company, she was warm, witty, kind, generous, fun and very stylish and beautiful.

We were so very fortunate to see her this summer in very good spirits, surrounded by people she loved.

It is this time of year I always think about magical Christmases as a child with my mum and brother spent at both Archers Leigh and Duncombe House, with Auntie Dilly, Uncle Basil, Cousin Jeremy and Bella the black Labrador.

We will treasure all the happy memories with her forever.
Rest in peace Auntie,

From my earliest childhood memories I always loved Jill. Tall, elegant and with a commanding kindly voice.
Her Christmas gifts to my sister and I were always so different and interesting, unlike the things children were accustomed to receiving. Beautiful hand printed bags with exotic animals, hand thrown mugs depicting a white dove and tiny trinket boxes with great works of art from the National Gallery on their lids.
I still have my box 55 years later!
After the death of our Grandmother, Jill showed great kindness and thought by giving us some plants that she had grown for us from our Grandmother's garden.
We will miss you Jill.

It was always such a pleasure to see Jill wherever she was: at home, in hospital . Her warm welcoming smile made you feel special while it clearly hid the deep sadness at losing her Basil and her frustration at being unable to be independently mobile. But it certainly never affected her appetite!
She only ever wanted to catch up on your news , what was happening in your life . Her warmth was a delight as was her beauty.

Looking through old photos has reminded me of so many lovely moments with Ganny (Jill). I’ll always remember our walk through Dunster Castle: the gardens, the stream, and how peaceful it felt. One of my earliest memories is how I loved standing on her stairs while she showed me her collection of porcelain figurines I could stare at for hours.

She was very loving, and I feel lucky to have had her as my grandmother. Her kindness is an example for me, and I’ll always remember her with love. She will be deeply missed.

Dearest Jill, 80 years of friendship all through our school days and holidays together, so many happy memories from freezing hockey matches to cakes rolling down Lansdown Hill, I cherish them all. So much laughter. Family visits later as we grew older with our husbands, it was always such a joy. Thank you. Janet Broomhall (nee Solomon)
