I would like to pay tribute to my wonderful client of the past six years, Patricia.

I was her cleaner, but over the years she became so much more than just a client to me. She was a truly thoughtful and caring person who had a special way of looking out for others. She often gave me advice about life, and I will always appreciate the wisdom and kindness she shared with me over the years. I once mentioned to her that I loved music, and she surprised me by going out and buying me a music poster — such a simple but meaningful gesture that showed the kind of person she was.

Patricia was full of warmth and always encouraged me to enjoy life and have fun. While I was working in her home, she would often stay nearby, talk with me, and share lovely conversations that made the work feel lighter and more personal. She had a funny but caring habit of reminding me not to leave the tap running, joking that I was wasting water — instead encouraging me to use the water she had already saved in bottles. It’s one of those little things I will always remember fondly.

She didn’t just see me as someone who worked for her — she told me I was her helper. That meant a lot to me. I would help her with little things like preparing lunch and going to the shops, and it was always a pleasure to see her happy. She was thoughtful in return too, often asking what drinks I liked and making sure I had what I enjoyed.

One of our sweetest inside jokes was “two bananas” — a little reminder from her whenever she only wanted me to bring exactly that from the shops. Simple moments like that will stay with me forever.

She would often come to the door to say goodbye with a kiss, a small gesture that showed her warmth and affection.

Patricia will be greatly missed. I am grateful for all the moments we shared and the kindness she showed me throughout the years. May her soul rest in peace. Xx
