BillSTANSFIELDMr William Alfred Stansfield (Bill) died on February 24 in Royal Blackburn Hospital
aged 82 years, with his daughter by his side.
As an electrician during his working life Bill retired after over 50 years but was always prepared to help if needed.
Bill loved clay pigeon shooting in his younger days. Later, as a Cowper he frequented The Buck Inn playing darts, dominoes and being with friends.
Holidays were an important part of his life as this was family time, St Ives being the annual family summer holiday with special friends. Later, with Elaine together spent many holidays abroad, exploring Canada and South Africa with Elaine which he remembered with happiness. Family holidays returned with the birth of grandchildren and Zante, Greece became the family holiday.
Bill will be greatly missed, he leaves his wife Elaine, sister Jean and brother-in-law Ken, daughter Claire and son-in-law Matthew, grandchildren Thomas and Emily as well as two nephews Stephen and Andrew and niece Alison, and their families.
Bill's funeral will be held on March 19, 12.30pm for prayers at Cowpe Community Hall
(formerly Sunday School) with a Service of Thanksgiving at Burnley Crematorium at 1.45pm.
Family flowers only please. Any donations will be shared with Cowpe Community Hall
and The White Horse Project, a charity for young people in the Rossendale area.
