A small memory of Ted
We met during our long cousin calls while Wends was slowly deteriorating over those five years. Ted always had something positive to say….always. He always had a smile.
Over time, I realised how highly intelligent he was, how deeply he loved nature and animals, and how well travelled he had been.
He had a way of making my cousin’s eyes shine with delight whenever he popped his head over her shoulder just to say hi.
Every now and then we would message each other pictures of rare snakes or special finds. It felt like his way of saying, “Look at this wonder of the world.”
Ted lived life to the fullest. There were no half-measures. He was a soldier in every sense , black or white, right or wrong, no in-between.
I know Eike’s heart is shattered. How I wish I could hold her close. But I know her Ted will never truly leave her.
Always and forever.
Rest well, soldier of God.
I will miss your big smile, your passion for life, and the way you saw beauty in the world.
