AndreaSTOCKSAndrea Stocks died peacefully at her home in Penpont on 23rd March 2026 at the age of 84.

Andrea led a very full, colourful and unconventional life and touched the lives of many people. She was the loving and committed partner of Carol-Ann for over 20 years, and 2nd mother to her children Bonnie and Ollie. She was favourite auntie to Rupert and Adam. She was Grandma to Elijah and Toby. She was a supportive friend and confidant, loved by an unusually wide range of people of all ages from all walks of life throughout her remarkable, action-packed and productive life. She was also loved by many cats and several little dogs. Andrea was a motivational school teacher, a confidential counsellor, a quiet activist, an accomplished artist, a skilled craftswoman, a competent car mechanic, an excellent driver, an entertaining musician, a children's story-writer and a knowledgeable bird watcher. She loved nature, colour, music, peace and harmony.

Andrea's funeral will be held at Roucan Loch Crematorium in Dumfries on Thursday 9th April at 10:00. This will be followed by a Memorial Service in the Parish Church of Penpont, Keir, and Tynron in Penpont at 12:00.

There will be a wake with a buffet lunch in the Church Hall after the service. All who knew Andrea are welcome at any or all of them.

Please make a donation rather than buy flowers. There will be a collection at the Crematorium and Church for Marie Curie, who provide excellent end-of-life nursing care, which they did for Andrea in her final days. donate.mariecurie.org.uk
