JanetSTOREYOf Clayton-le-Moors and formerly of Great Harwood passed away peacefully in hospital on December 12, aged 72 years. A devoted and loving wife of the late Philip; a much-loved mum to Beth, Jennet, Katherine, Matthew and Daniel; a dearly loved mother-in-law; a cherished grandma; a dear sister to Jack and Lyn, and the late Bob; and a respected relative and friend to many. Former Mayor of Hyndburn (2005-2006), Janet was immensely proud of her hometown and worked tirelessly to make it a better place for others. She also served her community as a ward councillor, dedicating much of her spare time to the needs of those around her. Janet loved conversation and always looked forward to gathering around a table for lively debate. A natural leader, she inspired many. After meeting and marrying her beloved Philip, Janet lived in various locations, making a welcoming home wherever he was stationed during his years of service with the British Army. She later spent many years working as a travel agent specialising in luxury cruises, and was herself a true cruise connoisseur, sailing around the world several times with Philip. Above all, Janet was a devoted family woman who treasured time spent with those she loved most.
No flowers please, by request. Donations are gratefully received in Janet's memory on behalf of Parkinson's UK.
Janet's funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Monday, December 22 at 10.20am. All enquiries to Champ Funeral Services T: 01254 390731 E: info@ champfunerals.com
