RobertTAYLORMr Robert Taylor, of 16 Beaconsfield Street, Accrington, passed away peacefully at his home on July 20, 2023, aged 81 years. He was the husband of the late Linda, a much loved stepfather to Dean and Karen, brother to John and Frank. A loving uncle to John and Julie, and grandad to Ellie. Robert will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Robert was brought up on a farm along with his brothers, John and Frank. He worked for many years at Platt’s Engineering in Accrington. His last job was working alongside his late wife Linda at Rosettes Direct in Accrington, where he engraved trophies. Apart from his family, his main hobby was walking - he would be seen out every day and more often than not, he would climb the Coppice. He even managed to climb to the top of Pendle Hill last year. He loved his holidays with his late wife and always enjoyed a pint of real ale when out with his family. He was a huge Blackburn Rovers supporter, and held a season ticket for over 50 years. Persons attending the funeral are encouraged to wear bright colours to celebrate Robert’s wonderful life. A service will take place on Thursday, August 3 at Accrington Crematorium Chapel at 3pm, and will be conducted by Neil Overton. Family flowers only. Donations to East Lancs Hospice, c/o Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington.
