DavidTHOMPSONMr David Thompson, of Heathfield Avenue, Stacksteads, died suddenly in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Thursday, May 12, aged 55. A service will be held at the Chapel of Rest on Friday, May 27 at 10.45am, followed by cremation at Burnley at 11.30am, conducted by Mrs Jill Bolton. Born in Bacup, David lived all of his life in the Bacup and Stacksteads area. He played cricket for Bacup Cricket Club, where he had been captain of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams. He also played football for ‘Johnsons’ and was a Leeds United supporter. David also loved going on holiday to Tenerife. He leaves his partner of 34 years Susan, son Matthew and his wife Jessica, daughter Lucy and her partner Gilly, brothers Steven and Peter, sisters Sheila and Angela, step-brother Mick and their partners, nephews, nieces and many friends. Immediate family flowers only; donations in lieu of David to be made to the family via the funeral director Anthony Johnson Funeral Services Ltd, Bacup.
