KenTHORNTONof Helmshore, passed away peacefully at Lilibet Manor Care Home on Friday, August 22, aged 91.
Much-loved husband of Shirley and loving, supportive father of his children and their families.
Youngest brother of the late Ronnie and Sonny.
Ken grew up in the Nelson and Colne area before moving to Helmshore.
Ken enjoyed his work as an SRN mental health nurse at local hospitals and at Rossendale General Hospital
where he met his wife, Shirley.
In his youth, he was an avid amateur footballer, playing as goalkeeper. He was a keen handyman and gardener.
In later life, he enjoyed dancing and listening to brass bands.
His family would like to thank everyone at Lilibet Manor for all the care given during his time there.
Ken's funeral will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday, September 9 at 11am.
