To me, Jim was one of a kind. One of the most kind, loyal, patient and humble people you could ever wish to meet. Always generous with his advice and support, he would always put the needs of others before his own. These qualities, together with his wonderful sense of humour, meant he had a profound, positive effect on the lives of many. I consider it a true privilege to have worked with and known him. Rest in peace, dear friend x

Dearest Jim was an inspiration to all who were lucky to have shared something of his life. He was an amazing teacher, second to none. Moreover he was the kindest, most lovable human being who enriched everyone’s life. You have left a yearning gap in this world. Rest peacefully. Jim.

Jim, you were an amazing teacher and a wonderful friend and confidante who will be missed so much. You truly were a one off and the world is a poorer place without you in it. Your support to me both personally and professionally over the past 20 years has massively impacted my life. I will miss our long chats, our breakfast meet ups and the reminiscing. Love you Jimbo xxx

My pal Jim
Is no longer here
The fun the squash
The occasional beer

The holidays together
Even draughts on the beach.
Jim played in Africa
Where he used to teach.

We met through tennis,
Then gave squash a go.
A fantastic game
As most of you know.

Friends for years
Through thick and thin.
He’d help me out
And I’d help him.

I couldn’t have wished
For a a better friend.
Superb company
Good pals to the end.

He may have passed on
But will live in my mind
‘Cos we all know
He was one of a kind.
