Derek Turner.
Happy memories of when you were Shawbury Venture Scout Leader in late 1970's.
I remember the canoeing & getting recognition by the RAF so we could go gliding at Tern Hill as well as air experience flights in helicoptors & light aircraft.
Not to forget the building of the new Scout, Cubs, Guides & Brownies Centre. I recall a few of us going to a nearby farm on a tractor, with Derek, to reclaim old bricks so the new centre fitted in with the ambience of the area.
The trips to the continent were good fun to Bologne & Brügges.
Thanks for all you did for us Derek & Rest Well.
Howard Marshall.

Fond memories of Derek as Leader of Shawbury Air Venture Scouts.

A wonderful gentle person who cared so much to those around him. So many wonderful memories including his infamous brown car with the registration ANT,
The song created on Camp “ We want Derek as our Leader, we’re all off to Weston Park”
Amid the OAP annual party discussing with Rev John Daimond a christening and also our Wedding plans.

Without Ollie and Derek running the unit we would not have met and gone on to celebrate 30 years of marriage.

Thank you and sleep well.
