Phillip DavidVINCENT-BETTSWith broken hearts, we announce the passing of Phill Vincent-Betts, who sadly left us on 16th March 2026.

Words cannot describe the emptiness we feel. Phill was a gentleman who adored his family. A wonderful, caring, kind, generous, compassionate, charismatic, funny, and above all, a very loving husband to Bernie; son to the late Gladys and Eric Betts; son-in-law to Tom and Brieda Vincent; father to Matt and Vicky; father-in-law to Hayley and Steve; grandfather to Jack; brother to Steve and sister-in-law Steph; brother to the late Helen and brother-in-law Maurice; uncle to Richard and partner Cheryl; Sally and husband Tom; Jayne and husband Andrew; Fayth and partner Kaine; Jacob and partner Abbi and baby Dylan; brother-in-law to Chrissie; uncle to Seb and wife Sam, Indie and Teale; Lozz and partner Lauren and Neala; Sophie and Audrey; Jess; Joshua and Robyn; cousin, nephew, and friend to many.

Phill had been in sales for his entire career, starting at British Gas when he was 16 years old, but for the last 25 years of his career, he had his own company that concentrated on B2B telemarketing, mainly in the NHS health sector. He was extremely well thought of by colleagues and customers alike, full of ideas and always willing to help and share them.

Phill was a tremendous fighter; the strength and bravery he showed to endure the painful procedures he underwent for over 2 years were quite incredible. He never moaned and was always smiling and very cheerful despite the challenges he faced. Forever in our hearts, he will be greatly missed. The world was a better place with Phill by our side. Can't imagine a life without him.

The funeral will take place on Thursday 16th April at 9.45am at St Thomas' Church, Tamworth Road, Coventry, CV6 2EL, followed by a committal at 11.15am at Canley Crematorium, Cannon Hill Chapel, Cannon Hill Road, Coventry, CV4 7DF.

Donations are welcomed in Phill's memory for the British Liver Trust. These can either be left in the donation box at the exit of the church or made online via Funeral Notices at www.franklinfunerals.co.uk

We have many fond memories of Phill, but the best ones are undoubtedly of the trips we did and adventures we had together with him, Bernie, Matt and Vicky.
It all started with the New Years Eve celebrations at St Brides Castle in Pembrokeshire, moving on to some epic expeditions to the Lake District, Peak District and Snowdonia.
Trips abroad soon followed, including a memorable meet-up at a campsite in Switzerland, where we all got told off for making a noise after curfew, then an expedition to deepest France, to see the solar eclipse (see picture).
The weather thwarted us on this occasion, but, nothing daunted, Phill got straight on the phone to Matt, who was watching the event in their back garden, and was able to describe it to us as it was happening.
Phill was always up for a challenge, and would commit himself 100% to any that came his way.
He also had that rare quality of being able to put a positive spin on things, especially when they weren't going according to plan.
Our hearts go out to all his family and friends.
Dale, Hilary, Claire and Mark.

Phill was one of the first people I met when I started working in the gas showrooms back in 1977. He was a maelstrom of activity, could virtually pick up a cooker and move it bare handed and had a ready smile and great charm. He was a born salesman. We had some laughs along the way and Phill never changed, I will always remember that big bloke, full of a buzz for life.
He lived Bernie and was man who just loved has family. I am pleased to say he was a friend of mine.

Grandad, I am at a loss of words for what has happened, this should of never happened so soon, I always wanted you to see me grow abit older, get my first house and seeing you come for the grand reveal, creating my own family for you and nan to love and forever supporting and helping in any future achievements. As your only grandson I want to say thank you for being the best grandad I could of ever asked for, from helping me with all my school projects, creating amazing green screen videos and voicing characters for the games me and my team through university had made. Giving me an amazing creative mind through fantasy and sci-fi, having many laughs and our debate on who was taller, thank you for helping me develop my English skills with all my written work; from changing 90% of my essays due to incorrect grammar, to the last time you changed a single word and shook my hand with how proud you was, I will ever forget that moment. You were always so passionate about my interests, asking how my education was going and giving me many ideas that I used; I believe I passed these courses because of you! What I would do to have you still here, with your arm over my shoulder like we did watching crystal maze when I was a kid. I’ll never forget you and I’ll do everything in life in your memory. I love you grandad I always will and I will always be there for nan for you.

Dad, I don’t know how to put into words how much I am going to miss you. You were always there for me no matter what. We butted heads at times because we are both as stubborn as each other! You and Mum took us on the best adventures, we always had so much fun. The last few years we went on quite a few holidays, St Ives especially was a favourite of all of ours. You loved coming out for a walk up the Wedge with Mylo in the spring and summer, not so much in the winter! Thank you for being the best Dad I could have ever had. I keep imagining that I can see you walking up my path to come and see me, I would do anything for that to be real. I can’t imagine life without you, there is going to be a huge hole in our family that can never be filled. Love you so so much Dad. Love your heartbroken Pongo (Vicky) xxxxx
