John JamesWALSHKnown to many as ‘J.J’ or Jim, of Worsley St, Accrington, died peacefully at Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 85, on January 27.
Devoted husband of the late Margaret Walsh, dearly loved stepfather of Ian and the late Neil. Father-in-law to Kimberley, beloved brother to Madeline, Patrick, Tony, Mary and Phyllis and uncle to Carole, Michael and Alan. Adored grandfather of David, Daniel, Lauren, Bethany, Chloe, Callum and Lucy, and much loved great-grandad to Phoenix, Hallie, Matilda, Eden and the late Mollie. Jim was well known and liked in the local building trade, he was a plasterer and property repairer and ran his business successfully for many years.
J.J was also a longstanding member at Accrington & District Golf Club, where he enjoyed many a round of golf until his health prevented him from playing the game he truly loved. Jim will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and met him.
A service will take place to celebrate his life on Thursday, February 8 at 12.20pm at Accrington Crematorium. Family Flowers only please, those wishing to donate can do so to either Cancer Research or Marie Curie via Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Rd, Accrington, BB5 6DR.
