WEBBVelda Doreen (nee Brayshaw) 18th April 1929 to 3rd September 2013. Velda's family would like to thank all those who came to the funeral service on 19th September 2013. Despite rainy weather, the Chapel was full and so, too, was Veldalan for the wake afterwards. Many people came whom we had not seen for years and were not able to speak with on the day. We would appreciate all those mourners and others to please contact the family again, so that old acquaintances could be resumed and another aspect of Velda's life could be brought into focus. Collections were made for St. Giles Hospice in Whittington and we are delighted to report that almost £700 was donated. All mourners were given St Giles silver heart bracelets as a gift from Velda; and we are hoping they will continue to be worn both as a tribute to her and a reminder of what a good cause this is. Velda was a very special person who inspired others and we were overwhelmed by the large number of cards and letters received from family and friends and very touched by the sentiments expressed. The family would also like to thank the Tamworth Co-operative Funeral Service team for their dedication and professionalism.
