I first met Pete at Urmston Cricket Club when we were 14 years old. We had an arguement in the pavillion about the pair of batting pads that I wanted to wear. I can't remember why. As both of us don't like to be told what to do, neither of us would step down. We must have respected that personality trait because afterwards we became life long friends. Pete was a very talented all round cricketer and captained Manchester Grammar School at cricket which was a marvellous achievement. Also Penzance, I believe, You are only captain if you are trusted and respected by others around you. Pete, like Anne, was so proud of Lucy and James and their achievements. He always tried to be a good Father to them and to give good advice and guidance. When Neve, Enya, Annabel and Freddie arrived he was so delighted and I could tell he was similarly proudp as he always updated me about them. They will all miss him and our thoughts are with them. Pete to me was the brother I did not have. He gave me immense pleasure and i was always happy to see him.. When you think of Pete. Smile.
