We always found Cynthia to be a most caring, thoughtful and very knowledgeable person. She was a true friend.
It was a real pleasure to meet up with her whilst walking our respective dogs around the Washlands, in the vicinity of our respective homes, and listen to her musings of times past.
Cynthia had a strength of character as well as a physical strength to assist us in the occasional rescue of cattle, that we happened to chance upon, that were caught up in the occasional ever rising waters, close to Watchman's Cottage, on the Washlands.
Her tenacity was something to behold and her beaming smile kept us all going from time to time as we avidly listened to her many stories of Sherratts Riding School - now a world away!
We both know and have encountered the difficulties that alzheimers and dementia present, both to the person and to those around them, and we thank all those people who have been caring for Cynthia during the last year or so.
To her family we give our condolences. May she rest in peace.
John and Carrie.
