This is terribly sad news. Helen was a terrific campaigner and a lovely person. The Save the Countryside campaign did enormous good not just for her own patch but for the whole of Cheltenham. It is partly due to her efforst that we now have 16 designated Local Green Spaces across Cheltenham which are protecting the green spaces most valuable to communities from development - including one of the largest next to Swindon Village despite the enormous development pressure there. As the MP at the time when she launched that campaign she, I always a found her a friendly, supportive but very very determined voice. She will be missed by her family very much I'm sure but also by the rest of us. All the best, Martin
