JeanWELSHWith heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Jean Welsh 88 years old on February 7th 2026 in Las Vegas Nevada USA.

Jean passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family - Jean and her husband Patrick were looking forward to celebrating their 66th year wedding anniversary when the Lord called her home.

Jean (formally Jean Woodward and her husband Patrick (Paddy Welsh) were born (in 1937) and raised in Grangetown Cardiff. They met at age four while attending St Patrick's Catholic school - they courted and got engaged in 1957 before Patrick was recruited by the Brooklyn Dodgers Baseball Club (USA).

Patrick returned home in 1960 to marry Jean and they returned to the USA that same year - Five months later, Patrick was drafted into the US Army for two years as the Vietnam war started to unravel. Jean secured employment on Wall St when British secretaries were in demand.

At the end of Patrick's military tour they followed the Dodgers to Los Angeles California where they built their family home in Manhattan Beach, a beautiful beach community where they made so many wonderful loving memories.

They lived there for 48 years before their only child Timothy and his wife Beverly, moved to Las Vegas and had two beautiful daughters, Casey & Kennedy.

Jean missed her granddaughters so much that in 2008, she and Patrick moved to Las Vegas where they loved and enjoyed so many years of family happiness.

Jean held the essence of family, she devoted her life to those close to her and was the 'Great Communicator' to those in Wales who she loved dearly She never forgot her heritage and held anything and everything Welsh, close to her heart.

Jeans passing was sudden and she leaves behind a devastated family who will eternally miss her devotion, warmth, kindness, love and infectious smile, as she brought sunshine into all of our lives.
