WalterWHITTAKERMr Walter Hargreaves Whittaker, formerly of New Street, Haslingden, passed away peacefully at Royal Blackburn Hospital with his daughter by his side, on Tuesday, May 3, aged 89. The dearly loved husband of the late Ruth, partner of Ann and loving and devoted father of Linda Owen, and a loyal friend to many, and a lifelong member and Vice President of Haslingden Cricket Club. He will be sadly missed. A funeral service will be held for Walter at 2.30pm on Friday, May 20th at Haslingden Methodist Church, Manchester Road, Haslingden, followed by his burial at Haslingden Cemetery, Grane Road at 3.30pm. Family flowers only, or if so desired, donations to Haslingden Methodist Church or East Lancs Hospice.
