JoyceWHITTAKERJoyce Whittaker, of Jubilee Court, Haslingden passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31 aged 93.
Wife to the late Kenneth Whittaker for 69 years she leaves sons John and Peter daughters-in-law Karen and Mandy, grandsons Philip, Matthew and Richard their wives Laura, Kath and Sophia, great grandchildren Emmy, Sam, Kit and Franklin. Sister in law Marion and cousin Glenice.
Joyce worked in the family business, Whittaker’s Greengrocers and Florists, of Bank Street, Rawtenstall, and became a member of Rossendale Business and Professional Women’s organisation. She attended St Mary's Church, Rawtensall and enjoyed the meetings of the Women’s Fellowship. Together with Ken they travelled all over the world and also enjoyed holidays in their caravan touring England and Scotland, but spending time with family was the key focus of Joyce’s life. She also enjoyed sewing, embroidery and reading.
Joyce’s funeral will be at St Mary's Church, Rawtenstall on Thursday June 19, at 12 noon, followed by interment at Rawtenstall Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations are welcome for Rossendale Hospice or St Mary's Church and can be made by visiting www.fredhamer.co.uk (tributes and donations)
