Mr Whittingham was my A-level Politics teacher between 1994-96 at Acklam Sixth Form. We had our classes on the top floor of the Manor House (Acklam Hall). I remember him as a very softly spoken tall gentleman with an endearing presence. I saw Bill in Sainsbury's once around 2008. I was too anxious to approach him after seeing him so frail. I wish I could have shown him more appreciation...never did i imagine I would be writing a message about one of my late college lecturers...it's heartbreaking to say the least.
