GordonWHITWORTHSuddenly at home on Wednesday, May 25, Gordon, aged 58, passed away. Loving son to Cynthia and the late Tom, brother to Barbara, brother in-law to Stephen, fantastic uncle to Audrey and Matthew, who he used to tease mercilessly. He also leaves behind cousins, aunties and an uncle, along with many friends from Haslingden Methodist Church, Kay Street Baptist Church in Rawtenstall, and beyond. Gordon was known for hosting Zoom meetings, including a knit and natter and a time for music with residents of Highfield Hall Care Home, amongst others. Gordon had worked for JH Birtwistle’s in Haslingden and had previously worked as a carer, and was latterly his parents’ main carer. His late father Tom, who he was very close to, died 16 weeks prior to Gordon, so he spent his time caring for his mother. Gordon’s funeral will take place on Wednesday, June 22 with a committal at Accrington Crematorium at 1pm, followed by a service in Haslingden Methodist Church at 1.45pm, officiated by Rev’d Elizabeth Kirova.
