Derek ArnoldWILKINSONPeacefully in hospital surrounded by his loving family on 5th December 2018, Derek aged 76 years of Barrow. The devoted and much loved husband of Valerie, loving dad of Jacquelin and Julian, dear father-in-law of Andrew and Tieneke, cherished grandad of Emily, Louisa, Ellie-Mae, Annabel, Olivia and Louis. Derek was born in Barrow-in-Furness where he became a police cadet and went on to serve in the police force for 30 years. He moved to Lancashire following promotion to Sergeant and worked his way up to being Chief Inspector, a role that he loved and was very proud of. Derek was also an active member of the Round Table, Rotary Club and Forty One Club. Above all, he was a family man who loved to see all his family and enjoyed family get togethers, always looking forward to Christmas time. Derek's funeral service will be held at St James Church, Altham on Friday 14th December 2018 at 11.45am followed by a private family committal.
