Nan, you were the best. Like really, THE BEST. And what a lucky granddaughter I was, to have you, as my Nan. You were the kindest, sweetest, funniest, cutest little Nan & I’m so glad you were mine.
I’ll always speak of you, in every story I tell. I’ll reminisce about all the holidays we shared, camping trips you took us on, hot chocolates before bed on the weekends, and the butterfly cakes we’d make when we stayed. (Don’t tell my mum, but you were definitely the best baker haha) - that is where she gets it from though & I know you’ll live on in her forever.
I wasn’t ready for you to go Nan, I don’t think any of us were. I mean, I know you were 91 (and a half) and all that, but I genuinely thought you’d live forever. I didn’t ever imagine that there would be a life without you, but here we are.
I didn’t know I could be heartbroken but so filled with love at the same time. Heartbroken that you’re gone, that we’ll never see you or hear your voice again, but so filled with love because you never stopped telling us or showing us how much you loved us.
Everyone who knows me, knows of you, and how wonderful you were. “What a wonderful lady she was” they all say. And I’ll make sure that is always the way.
Thank you for accepting John and Noah into your family like they were your own. They thought the world of you and I know you did of them. Grateful you got to be a part of our story together & witness how amazing they are. And that I got to share you, with them. We got to make wonderful memories together Nan, that we’ll all cherish forever. Noah asked what we’d do on Boxing Day now, and I guess we don’t really know yet. But what I do know is you’ll be there, wherever we are, with Gaga & Vin, in your matching pyjamas, with a whiskey, 6 little ice cubes & a lemon slice.
Thank you for the best life Nan, it’s your time to rest.
I love you very much Nan, with all my heart, always.
Miss you forever.
