Peter humoured me with taking this picture when he stood in a patch of sunlight one day.
He would also humour me with receiving hugs, by lowering himself a few storeys. I can clearly recall him awkwardly patting my back:)
I remember him frequently heading up Ilfracombe's high street for a newspaper, leaving Sally and I 'to it' (delicious cake and a cuppa in the kitchen as we 'caught up'.)
And I remember him at dinner, again in the kitchen with Sally, which I was so kindly and regularly invited to, Peter would be folded like a deck-chair at the table, wine in hand, telling some story or sharing an anecdote. Droll and wry of humour, he wasn't really a performer, but with his voice and delivery, I can't help thinking that the stage missed a great actor.
A bit Goodies, a bit Blackadder, a bit Yes, Minister.. he made me laugh. He had great taste and knowlege of music, film, architecture, art history, the arts in general.
I am so fortunate to have been friends with Peter and with Sally. My life very definitely the richer. Lovely memories, thank you Peter.
